For 2023, the New Forest Polo Club will be supporting Headway, the brain injury association. This wonderful charity supports those attempting to improve their lives after head and brain injuries.
Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were.
Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through its network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields.
Although safeguarding measures are in place and accidents are rare, head injuries can occur across all forms of equine disciplines. From short-term concussions to traumatic brain injuries, Headway provides a range of support for all types of head injuries.

Every year, around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury – that’s one every 90 seconds.
Just £275 covers the average cost of emergency travel to/from hospital over a 4-week period to visit a family member following a brain injury.
Raising £500 can fund the running costs of Headway’s nurse-led helpline for one week.
Joining us on this fundraising year are Spencers New Forest. A leading, independent estate agency, Spencers will be on-site at the Kuseyo Cup weekend helping to support our fundraising for Headway.
We will be fundraising for the charity throughout the year, culminating at our Kuseyo Cup weekend on 12th and 13th August when Headway representatives will be visiting in person.
